  i always had my doubts about that but i was at least hopeful that all would work out as they said.

  i saw so many "faithful ones" who were true believers expire before they got the prize, that i started to think it probably wouldn't happen in my lifetime.. what a bunch of suckers, huh?.

  1969 A knock on the door leads to a Bible study. 1970 leads to getting baptized for me. 1971 leads to getting baptized for my wife. 1972 leads to our first son being born. 1973 leads to our second son being born. 1974 leads to 1975 and the arrival of The Great Tribulation......it did not happen and as of the present date 2012 has not happened. i think it will never happen and one generation will pass on to another generation, on and on it will go until????????

  Yes I expected to live on a paradise earth forever with my family. The motivating factor was the survival of my family which I still carry up to the present time and as long as I am alive. Isn't that what parents are supposed to do? Loving Jehovah, Jesus and anyone else had nothing to do with my survival for my family. Unknown at the time it was evolutionary instincts that made me do what I did for my family back in 1969---until 2001 when finally I had enough and did the fade.

  Lessons learned from CASABLANCA

  i watched casablanca last night.

  rick blaine is cyncial and an alcoholic.. but, he rises above his malaise to do the "right thing" to make the world a better place.

  he realizes he doesn't need to sacrifice love or life to do it--he only has to incorporate a larger view of what is valuable into his life and exchange something valuable to achieve it.. in other words, this film has a vision that allows an ideal through behavior by demonstrating a greater opportunity than mere complaint, destruction or self-destruction.

  Terry, Tom Brokaw wrote a true account of people like Rick Blaine in his book The Greatest Generation. They came of age during the Great Depression and the Second World War and went on to build modern America, men and women whose everyday lives of duty, honor, achievement, and courage gave us the world we have today.

  All of them real people, before the Baby Boomer generation that has no reality of what that cost was so they can live the lives they have today. If you were born after 1946 you belong to the baby boomer generation. Before that you are part of the greatest generation that ever lived.

  So, lessons learned from The Greatest Generation, by Tom Brokaw is real life and a very good book to read that hits the nail on the head about what you have posted . I'm 67 and that generation is dying off.

  There is no such thing as a spiritual person. We are fleshly creatures as are all living creatures. Even the word creature is suspect. Implying creation rather than evolution.But that is another topic.

  Who On This Site Would You Like To Meet?

  there are a lot of interesting people that frequent this site.. sometimes, we get an idea of what the posters are really like in "real life".

  and i'm sure i could be easily surprised by some that you think might be strong personalities because of their board presence, and in reality, they might be shy in a face to face setting.. i would enjoy meeting simon.

  simon used to be terribly annoyed by my posting and now i think he's accepted with tolerance my being here.. farkel seems like a grouchy cantankerous fellow but i think he'd be very interesting company!.

  We all have many, many, many, many MISCONCEPTIONS

  most of what we think we know consists of wrong information that we allowed to come in to our head.. we weren't on guard.

  we weren't thinking critically.

  or, we trusted the source and simply accepted the wrong thing.. a great deal of our misconceptions come from genuine authorities like our parents:) who are crammed full of untrue ideas they learned from equally.

  Nice one Terry! You always get us thinking! I have a shirt, a black one with a squre box in the center. It reads,"Think, it is not illegal yet" I like to wear it when we go out. People see it, I don't know what effect it has on them.

  You, however, have an effect on all of us here on the site with your Topic Post's that are so very educational. I'm not stroking you, I enjoy all your topics even though I might not respond to some of them.

  I knew about the one on religion, Christianity, Islam etc.
